The Boiler and Lid are manufactured from hot-rolled steel sheet plates. The boiler is designed and produced to withstand 1 bar internal pressure and vacuum.
Welds performed during the manufacturing of the Boiler and Lid are tested for tightness using leak tests, liquid penetrant testing, and internal pressure application. These methods allow detection and correction of weak points in the weld seams before surface cleaning is performed.
For flanged assemblies, nitrile and neoprene gaskets are used to ensure oil tightness.
To reduce eddy current losses caused by high bushing currents passing through the lid, anti-magnetic sheet metal is used in those sections.
